Hey, thanks Nathan! Welcome to the gong show.
Alright, so here's the pics from yesterday. As I said, didn't get much time, but it was enough to get the coil bucket tacked in place! I trimmed out that gay part on the frame where the steering box is, plated it in square, then welded in the coil bucket. Like so.
After that was done, I couldn't help myself, had to drop a coil in there. These are 4.5" EB coils. Deaver 190ppi.
That pretty much covers yesterday. I got a pretty solid day in today. I got the radius arm mounts on and welded in place. No picture, sorry. I was too busy working! Also, if you recall that rust hole in the frame at the beginning, I fixed that. Cut it out, made a new piece to fit, welded in place, and then plated over it. No pics of the cutout and repair, but there is one of the plate.
After this was fully welded up, I did lots of measuring, and tacked the passenger side coil bucket in place, checked coil fitment, then welded 'er up solid. Did the same for the driver side, and...
NO JACKSTANDS!
This is ride height. I'm happy enough with the height it's at. And, everything clears at full lock, no trimming. Ah, the wonders of playing with wheelbase.
Tomorrow I hope to have track bar done and pull the trans. Sold the M5OD, so I have to yard it out. Plus, gives me an excuse to put in the C4.
More updates to come.
