Ok so I've recently come across a set of bedsides too good to pass up. 5" fiberglass bedsides perfect condition for 100 bucks. Anyway, I'm going to cut my regular bedsides out to a really large fender and then bolt the fiberglass bedsides to what remains. I wanted to know if I could use a bedliner, camper shell, and bedsides all at the same time. If I used long enough bolts would it be ok or would I have problems with vehicle stability at high speeds? Any suggestions or comments?

Do you have the extra track width to need the bedsides, or are you just after the larger wheel opening?

I'd secure the bedsides on their own, then add the extra's later... that way if you ever decide to change it up later, you don't have to resecure your bedsides.

If all else fails, sell them to me for a small profit... I need them, haha

Upgrading to either an 8.8" or upgrading my 7.5" and getting offset wheels so track width yes, but I also do a lot of gravel/sand drifting so width isn't a problem. Plus, I'm also getting a suspension lift soon, so I want to have the whole prerunner thing set up as soon as I can. Would chopping the bedsides reduce rigidity too much to use the camper shell?

Nope, with the bedsides properly secured along with the bracing mod'd around the lower wheel well you'll never notice a difference between them and the stock box.

Well that's good then. Now I just have to rig up a way to make a fuel door for it since I'm utilizing the stock tank.

??? Remove to stock bedsides completely. You probably won't be able to fit the fiberglass over top of them. Plus if you did, it would look like crap.

Fiberglass has one purpose to me, it allows my truck to be street legal and it doesn't weigh much..

On my truck I got one of those cheesy autozone billet fuel doors and put it into my fiberglass bedside, The I made a mount with tubing and a hose clamp to hold my filler neck behind it.. It works pretty well and it sure beats filling up through the fender well.. :)

Great idea! I'll use the fuel door from autozone. What I mean is cut away the excess material, then use the flared bedside to take place of the stock bedside. It actually would fit, but there's excess material on the flare I would have to remove to get it to fit, but it would end up getting removed anyway.

What about the tail light section? Its hard enough to get tail lights to fit in glass..

Look at the glass once you get it and decide from there...

Taillights were included with the bedsides, but screw it, I'll just leave the truck as it is. It's a good deal, but honestly I'll cut my losses and just let some other lucky bloke get them.

You say "cut your losses" but if you don't need them you'd be losing out getting them because you'd need a wider axle, more backspacing, bigger tires to fill in the big wheelwells...ect. If you aren't in the market for all that then you are way better off just leaving it be. Just my .02

Well I have some of the stuff and was in the market for the wider axle anyway, so I thought I'd get the flared bedsides to cover up the wider axle and wheels, but I've decided to just forget the bedsides and just get some Pacer flares.
