If it is the FM-146, then it is 6 or so bolts to swap it.

the last ranger made with a 4cyl with a removeable bellhousing was produced at the end of the 1987 model run.

After that there is ONLY the Mazda trans for the 2.0/2.3/2.5
The FM146 was ONLY made for the 2.9 engine.

there is NO bellhousing that will allow it to bolt up to a 2.3 unless you
are also willing to use the earlier bellhousing and front bearing retainer
off of an FM145.... I don't recommend this...

When I did my engine swap from 2.8 to 2.3 I used an 85 ranger TK bellhousing on an 85 bronco 2's FM146. It bolted right on and worked fine I used the hydraulic throw out bearing from the 6cyl although I think either would have worked.

No, your 1985 Bronco2 with a 2.8 had an FM145 which is NOT the same.
