Hey everyone Ive been on the site before luckily I've found my questions already answered but this time I don't see anything.

Has anyone put a BMW I6 in a older ranger? I know I'll have to use the beemer tranny and get a customer driveline. That's no problem but what about CPU? Would I have to make my own instrument clusters?

Any info is appreciated!

I know to start, you will need to have engine and tranny mounts. You could get some kind of convertion for the drive shaft. it depends on what BMW engine you want to do but if it is M52 you could get a swap tune that are common for e30 swaps. I would be interested to see someone put an I6 in a ranger

A BMW I6 is a pretty long engine. Have you looked at how much room you have with a radiator?

It does lay over at an angle so height should not be a problem. My guess is width should not be a problem either, but it would be something to check too.

You would need to extend the front clip, Rangers can barely fit 4 cylinders in a row, i.e. V8, I6 would just be too long

The small block V8s run about 27" long and fits, the 460 is 32", and has been done in a Ranger but radiator needed to be moved in front of rad support or firewall cut

shift linkage will also need to be figured out if you manage to stuff it in the engine bay. I have seen a picture of an m50 stuffed into a ranger before! no telling how, when or if it even ran from the looks of the picture lol!
