Yeah, mine's not quite that badass...

But some progress is being made. We got an engine for the tow truck.

And I found a Haynes manual at C.T.

This weekend should be good! :D

Tow truck is going slowly, but surely. Just a few more bolts until the old engine is out, ready to swap accessories with the new one. Soon!

There she is crew, the old core. Now things are just on the assembly side and we will have a tow truck for the rally car.

For prosperity's sake here are some more pictures of the rally car now that things are starting to thaw a bit.

hey crew, got a little update for you. We finally got the big block done in the Chev. Took us damn near a month, but now it's like we can do anything. I mean swapping a motor in -20*C was quite the fun time:annoyed: I'm going to be shipping out for the last term of my parts apprenticeship in a bit so I won't be wrenching for a while but I'll be lurking and posting like the old days.

For prosperity sake, here is a pic of the tow truck. Thinking about towing the rally car over to the shop to think about what it's done while I'm away.

Dam Mike if you just took that pic we are way more thawed than you guys. We had some snowflakes today but I thought it was ash from the stove pipe. Glad you got the tow rig going man.:icon_thumby:

Not as of yet. I have another project that came up. It's a 1984 Oldsmobile Omega. It is going to be my brothers car. It conveniently is going to be a donor for a lot of parts. It has a carbed 2.8 V6 as well. Back in the day the engine that is now going into the Pontiac was going to go in it. So things have gotten a bit mixed around. I'm upgrading a bunch of parts off it so the old carb and such are going to the Acadian.

It was my first car, lots of sentimental value in my family too.

It's just going to be a reseal job on the engine, then the toys will roll in over the winter. Working as time and funds allow.

Boy howdy it took me a while. But look what finally made its way into the shop!

For those of you down with the instagram hipsterness, follow me @maxmike181. I usually toss random build pictures up there all the time.

This thing will be getting wrenched on pretty constantly. Keep checking in. Jim, this post is for you!

A little while ago I bought a truck to do all the heavy hauling for the shop. Going to give it the same style decal package as the rally car when it's done.

Oh pff, you are Canadian. You run around in shorts and t-shirts and maybe a pair of wool socks down to -40.
