I have removed the crossmember and was wondering if you only have to relocate it a few inches will I be able to move it over so the right bolt holes on the bracket bolts up to the left side hole on the frame? or do I need to wait untill I set them in it? it seem like from what I have read only a few inches.

My credo
If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
My 351 is at most an inch away from the firewall and my C4 transmission mount sits a few inches forward of the original position. My cross member was a twisted up, hacked up mess so I made a new one.

I was just hoping to not have to drill 3 new holes on each side. lol I guess it won't matter if I have to drill 3 though.

You could make an extension plate. Just get some thick steel and weld the plate to the crossmember.

What he said. after moving mine forward, I think this would have been the better alternative.

If you make it level you can shim it to the proper height easier than you can lower it.

I just redrilled the holes to move it foreward and used a rear spring bushing to replace the rusted out bushing on the one side. I will need to put a couple of bushings on either side of the bolt. I was thinking it needs raised up a bit. The tranny is off to the side a bit, going to drill tranny mount holes to correct spot. I maybe will shim it up an inch or so.

I used a quarter inch thick peice of steel 6" wide 7" long. Not sure how high a T5 should sit. Its about an inch below the hole in the floor with the top part of the shifter off.
