ThumderChicken 2.3T is the plan for the first gen, currently just a fresh 2.3 NA engine.
Post your build if you do it.

I've got the same idea in mind for my 85, but will probably be building from scratch. All the 2.3t groups/forums say to start with finding a 2.3t donor, but I don;t think they realize just how difficult that can be. Since I'd be rebuilding the engine and installing upgrading other parts before/during the swap, I'd be replacing most of those donor parts anyway. I'll most likely start with a NA engine and roll my own.

Just a quick post for entertainment (mostly mine)

Can you guess what truck has what engine?

Here are some hints.

I'll start with saying that one Ranger has an engine that never came in a Ranger from the factory, and one Ranger has boost.

I will also say that these three Rangers all have engines with different displacements.

No snooping through my posts. This is a guess based on what you see here now.

First winner gets.... likely nothing...maybe a prize TBD.

One thing for sure is they all have the blues.

My plan is to run PimpX and stock NA internals for starters

Oh yeah, will definitely be running PiMP if I do it, probably the xshift version. I don't see it being worth my time turboing the engine I have due to the shape I think it's in. Will likely build it up before or as part of doing turbo.
