Does anyone know if a stock 2001 F-150 CD player work in a 2002 Escape? I'm sure it will fit, but are the wiring harnesses the same?

Thanks in advance:icon_cheers:

Every Ford radio I have swapped to another Ford has always fit. Sometimes half the harness will be missing as the vehicle was never set up for 4 speakers. I do know the 2009 and forward radios have a larger footprint.

I currently have a 2004 ford F350 with a 2001 radio in it from a Ford mustang. My truck only had 2 speakers in it from the factory.

Hardest part is getting the clips to release on the sides of it. They do sell plastic tools to get them to slide out, but you can put 4 small Allen wrenches or small screw drivers in the holes and push them to the outside to get it to release. Otherwise you have to go from behind the dash which is a biatch.

Ford likes to reuse the plug pattern and hard shell. Cuts down on production costs to have a bunch of stuff be the same.
