My credo
to prevent Found On the Road Dead, Fix Or Repair Daily
Oreilly's has same choices in CSBs as Autozone, but less money. Yah, yah the way to go is a one piece shaft. I know. Instead, I went for a 12$ Chinese part with a Spicer 1210 bearing molded into it.Its ID is 1.257 " The more expensive option has a Spicer 1280 bearing which has a smaller ID of 1.181 " That is not a wallet buster either at 28$. My thought was when I was in a hurry and getting bogged down with unexpected parts needs, that the extra play in the CSB could be avoided with easy shifting. I pried off the bearing covered and repacked it with axle grease.4 yrs later , I have the DS out. Again ! Time to replace. The old bearing, practically fell off. That is why I chose the larger bearing. I destroyed the CSB when I replaced it on my old BMW. The shaft is tender I would think the smaller ID is a press fit and I dont have one. TIA :D
