When all you have is a hammer every problem looks like a nail...Am I the only one that thinks it is silly to expect a truck to pull down a house AND get 40 mpg. different tools for different jobs IMO.
you can paint a house with a hammer, but it would be better if you used a paintbrush
I Concede. Yall have more knowledge and will never see my forest with all those trees in the way.
My WIP:This is sexy
anybody got the HP#'s for the I4 EB at 2500 rpm?
The good stuff, not microwaved crap or the kind that movie theaters sell out of huge bags?
keep it going guys, I know where to get more popcorn if needed.
I found one instance of an ecoboost turbo failing. Ever. Since 2009. Millions of them in cars trucks vans suv's ...I just like ruffling ya'lls feathers really. I couldn't care less. I personally don't care for the extra maintenance of a turbo. I know they are better today than they were a decade ago. I still don't want one. I know that if they put all this technology into a single engine, they have to promote the Fawk out of it and make it seem like the best thing since Kraft singles, but my 12 year old Corolla gets the same or better mpg than a ecoboost anything. I know, I know, but it does not have 200+ HP. But if you are getting the power band into 200Hp you AINT getting 20+ mpg. and that bitch is getting HOT. I don't care what you say more heat is coming off that turbo motor than a N/A motor.
EDIT: those squiggly lines in a box look cool btw,
Ford uses stock CAI's nowadays. No gains with aftermarket.IMO, It is just counter productive to have an engine restricted by so many devices due to government regulations, rev limiters, ect, and yet we are constantly looking for more power. We all know these motors are De-tuned and sapped to pass emissions, and as soon as we can we put free flowing exhaust for a few more ponies, cold air intake, few more, and we un-do all the little things to get that power back.
Are you 12 ? No body is expecting 40 mpg.Am I the only one that thinks it is silly to expect a truck to pull down a house AND get 40 mpg. different tools for different jobs IMO.

There has been more than one turbo failure, I know my brother has replaced a few. FIL was complaining about how big of a PITA replacing the turbo oil lines on a 3.5EB in a F-150 is.I found one instance of an ecoboost turbo failing. Ever. Since 2009. Millions of them in cars trucks vans suv's ...
Why is it whenever we find out you know not what you spew, you come back with "I could care less", yankin your chain, etc ?
Also haven't heard of overheating problems in any ecoboost engine.
Both ecoboost engines in F150's are consistly getting real world MPG in the 20's on highway non towing driving speed limit. 400+ HP. Guess what else gets 20 and 21 mpg hwy ? Coyote 5.2 V8 in F150's.
My point is, You know not what you say. You don't own a turbo.
I love my twin turbo beast.
