Hello,

2001 ranger 2.3 liter 5 speed. I had slave done earlier in year and master 2 months ago. Pedal felt greta then began loosing it 2 weeks after master went in. Bled in 2 different shops :vacuum, gravity , manually. 2nd place said only a few small bubbles of air. Not enough to make a difference. Its tough to engage in gear while engine on and if in gear while I stop it stalls. I was told by AAMCO I nneded a new clutch as fingers were worn. The 2nd place that bled it said I probably needed a new clutch as well as the fingers must be gone and that is why I need more pressure on pedal to engage in gear.

How can I be absolutely certain I do not have air in system and its not a clutch without taking tranny apart?

Also, assuming it is clutch, does it sound like it will be okay to drive for next 2-3 weeks until repaired. I drive mostly highway little shifting?

One guy quoted me 225.00 for kit and 5 hours labor 65@ hr.

Any ideas on what type of kit to buy and a few pointers on the process would be great.

thanks in advance
