I have an 85 ford ranger and I’m trying to find the clutch switch and part number for it. Also will this have a clutch switch and neutral safety switch.?

My credo
Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
Not 100% sure on the '85 specifically, but on most of the early trucks ('90-"94) it's mounted to the base of the master cylinder, inside on the firewall where the clutch rod goes into the master cylinder. A steel clip holds in place on the MC, and the rod goes through it beneath a little cover. Be careful removing it and don't booger up the clip.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
If it's manual transmission, i would expect it to have a clutch switch on the master cylinder push rod. Neutral safety switch is for automatics and is mounted on the transmission.

I did a brief Google and haven't seen a clutch switch for that year. Seems strange. It's not an absolute necessity as long as you train yourself to always hold the clutch in and make sure it's in neutral when starting the engine.

If you look at the clutch pedal it is a white switch with a plunger About half way up the pedal.

Well I can’t see a part number and I’m about crippled trying look, sorry. If you call greensupplycompany.com At 513-731-3304 8am-5pm EST. They should look the number up and tell you if they have one. They have a lot of old stock parts for Fords.
