From the factory the Ranger coils are seated in a bushing. They say when you replace the coil it has to be in the same position on the bushing as before. Well my bushings are completely shot and apparently auto parts stores dont think they existed because there arent any replacements that I can find.

Do you need these bushings?
I know people put in spacers and washers, but do they use this bushing? Or does the spring just sit on top of the spacer or washer?

If I dont have any spacers or washers in I wnt to be sure that I either have a new bushing, or that it is safe to run it with a crappy one, or none at all

It's basically just a sound dampener. I'll reuse them until they wear out then buy new ones. I hate squeeky trucks.

Ya that makes sense. But oreilly, napa, auto zone and carquest basically told me they dont exist.

Where can you get new ones at?

I know what you are talking about, mine are on their last leg. I am trying to find a link to one online.

Until then, a junkyard might be your best option...

EDIT Rock auto has em, ~$5 plus shipping.

they're coil spring insulators. try having the parts stores search for that. i found some at some place online, they were $14 a piece to get them to my door though. should've gotten them from rock auto.

EDIT-to answer your question though, yes, i would want something in there, even if it was the old one again.
