cordless impacts

I'm thinking of getting a cordless impact but uncertain on which one. Does anyone have any insight on a good, powerful product?

what size? the most usable is 3/8" drive, and out of the ones they have used at work the DeWalt has been the best, they like that over the newer Makita that they recently tried. Grainger has the best price.

Job I just got back from we had a dewalt impact, worked well. put in a ton of tapcons into concrete on a single battery.

I've got a DeWalt 18V 1/2" impact gun....works great! It'll take tires off of anything I've tried it on, and barely change a battery. I also have to tool set to go with it, so it was an obvious choice. I've also got the small 1/4" hex drive impact, with an adapter to go to 3/8" square drive for sockets. It works great for small bolts and fasteners, as well as running bolts in/out.

Whatever way you go...go with a Li Ion battery setup. They last longer, don't have a memory, can be charged whenever, and are way lighter than any other battery out there.

Are you guys with the dewalts using the larger model or the mid/compact sizes? Im more leaning towards the middle size from dewalt or milwaukee. the dewalt has like 1700 in lbs or torque compared to the milwaukee that has 2200 in lbs. Both are 1/2 drive. A friend of mine has a compact mikita and its so nice in those real tight spaces so thats why im leaning towards a compact version.

its the smaller 1 been useing it for 4 yrs now it all beet to crap

Yea I believe Im gona go with the milwaukee 2252. the price is the same for the dewalt i was looking at but the milwaukee has a bit more power. I wasnt aware how pricey the batterys are tho and at 75-119 a piece, guess ill have to make due with one till more loot comes in.

Amen. I've got a corded one that literally threw me over the side of my truck when I was drilling 3/4th holes to mount my toolbox and the bit binded. I would've been pissed, but I was so impressed with the drill's torque I ended up just grinning ear to ear.

Milwakuee's are awesome. I just bought a 3/8's Snappy a few weeks ago and have used that almost exclusively since. I'm on my 3rd battery charge, but I've been using this thing for everything but lug nuts (although it will do them) for 3 weeks now.
