@bobbywalter was telling me that there's a simplified method for doing this. I need him to chime in on what's involved.

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
abs 44 spindle with a flat bracket with bend or spacers. later ttb 150/bronco calipers if you already have a abs ttb 35..

or plate bracket with aftermarket calipers. the stock ones are 70 something mm singles so not spectacular for stopage but big improvement over stock ranger.

with a slide caliper 35, modified gm brackets with longer studs and gm outers with abs ttb44 spindles were done in the late 90's

quite a few compromises there though. better off using aftermarket calipers.

So does the ABS D44 spindle bolt onto the D35 knuckle? And do you use the rotor for that application as well?

The late 70's GM spindle fits the D35 knuckle but the mounting stud holes have to be redrilled (you probably are familiar with the Mappyjack method.) Then you can use the GM caliper plate, hub/rotor and caliper...but you end up with a 6 lug bolt pattern. I have heard you can use TTB D44 hub/rotors and the GM spindle instead. Any confirmation on that?

yes. abs 44 knuckle to abs 35 knuckle. the ttb d44 abs shares the same pattern....small 5.

so if you were robbing a bad ass bronco in the junkyard....i would suggest swapping the whole ttb 44 system.... full width first.

if you just want to have the spindles and brakes....then spindles out....and the outer 44 axle shaft and lockout of course.

the calipers are requiring adaptation but it is not overly complicated. they are similar but need adapter with plate and spacer. there is an e series caliper iirc that has a better piston....dont remember for sure what it was. there is a south american truck that has a setup similar stock. but its 6 lug.

with slide brackets....you cut those off and use the 10 bolt plates redrilled(6 hole gm application) with longer studs which require drill or fill... the 10 bolt outer shaft.... abs 44 rotor and spindle. but there is a bearing and seal stack up there i do not know the combo to.
