In the process of remote mounting my TFI module, I discovered the hall effect switch connector was melted. So as I tried to remove the shaft to replace it, I discovered the gear is a very tight fit. The only way I could get it off was with a 3 jaw puller. The Puller damaged the gear so I ordered another gear. This one is also a tight fit so I heated it to slide it on but before I could get it positioned correctly it got tight. I let it cool for a couple of hours (had to take the boy to Tae Kwon Do) and tried to pull it back off. Now I've damaged this gear too!
Should it be such a tight fit?
Is there a special tool?
I must be doing something wrong since the hall effect switch is a stocking item but no one in the state stocks the gear.
