Doors on the Rangers and Bronco 2s. I have two rangers and one bronco. On all three vehicle, the doors rattle while driving, like the doors are not shut properly. I can open and slam them shut but it still does the same thing. It seems to be a common problem, what causes it and what can I do to fix it?

This is common on older Chevys, wrap some electrical tape around the "post" part of the latch, on the cab side. This helps take up some of the slop on older door latches

My credo
I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
Check the strikers. Are the plastic sleeves worn out or missing?
If not, check the latches for play. They do wear out over time and get loose.

The electrical tape fix will hold up for a while, but its better to go to a junkyard and pull some strikers off something newer.
(my '90 has an '01 Ex sport striker on it, Ford doesnt change much. The other one off that '01 sport is on a Sterling truck now!!) Look for a pass side one, they usually have less wear.

what year are they i have a 85 ranger that the doors rattle on it, but the window channel felt that is wore out, be careful putting elect tape or anything other than the bushing on the strickers of your doors, they might come open when you least expect them to, hope you dont lean on them and wear your seat belts... hate to hear about you watching your truck drive off without you.lol.... just my .02
