sure, but not likely.

codes or something? one thing that DOES happen though is there is a small air filter in the bottom of it. that usually rots away and allows too much air in. i stuff an ear plug down the hole to act as a filter. code went away. also make sure the vacuum lines are not backwards

white cap, but what are your symptoms and problems? a rough idle with ok driving sounds like a vacuum leak

can you hear any air hissing or sucking sounds? start checking all the vacuum lines especially the brake booster and the pcv valve. check over the entire intake manifold.

does it do this when warm or cold?

ok you need to find that vacuum leak. just poke your ear around to guide you to it. you can also take a spray bottle of water and spray around spots to see if the noise changes or makes a slurping noise.

starting fluid or propane will smooth out the engine when you find the leak but in my experience starting fluid doesn't last long enough and not everyone has a small canister of propane set up with a long hose on it

the info about the hissing would have been great to put in your other thread about this problem.

the quickest test to see if this solenoid will even help. unplug the red and green hoses AT the intake manifold and plug those ports up. honestly hoses that small won't cause a significant running problem. you have a large vacuum leak that is causing it to run rough
