can i use a early model f150 power steering pump with bracket off a 302 and buy new hoses to fit the pump and my 85 ranger steering box and do away with my ranger p/s pump..im not having any luck finding any 70's model cars with 302 in my area..but i can find f150 trucks with the p/s and bracket..i was hopeing to get the pump and bracket and bolt it up to my 302 and if i could have new lines made to fit my steering box and the f150 pump...

Yes.

Your Ranger pump will likely bolt right into that bracket also, saving you some cash.

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
if it is a 4x4, pulling a serp system from a van, say 92 ish with the gm/saginaw style pump will be worth it if you have the room. the regular pumps suck.

ac lines are different though. the factory ranger or doner ps lines can be manipulated to work with the box though.

my 85 ranger is 2wd ... i was going to try to pull pump and bracket from a 81-89 f150that has a 302 and reuse the lines or buy or have news lines made but if my ranger pump will work with a 80's f150 bracket then that would be great... guess im trying to pin down what yr f150 to search for so i can get the bracket

I used the same setup from a 74 F150 on mine. The only issue I had was the lower radiator hose. A couple trips to auto parts store for different hoses which I cut into pieces and some exhaust pipe and I was all set. I also grabbed the alternator brackets and pulleys I was missing off the same vehicle.

You can get billet PS and alt brackets (pair) for $100ish if you're into that sort of thing.
