flagpole for the truck bed

I see them once in awhile. I just think it is a bad idea. I have a flag pole for the house...not the truck. They just wave around and are a distraction in traffic at times and can cause issues in traffic if they come loose as I have seen a few do so. The flags can become tattered after awhile and that looks bad as well. Now...if it is for a parade or special event I support that. Get a metal pole mount (not plastic) and either weld it in the bed near the window corner area (stronger there) or get some hardware to mount it there with oval clips etc. I did that on my Suzuki Sammi when I was asked to lead a Veterans parade we had about 5 years ago in Tampa by the Va Hospital. I flew my USSOCOM flag and I was leader of the pack. That flag was about 7 feet over the top of my Sammie and it looked good that day. But I did not drive it there that way. I put the flag in for the parade. Good luck, Bro.

When the Utah Jazz played the Chicago Bulls in the Finals back in 97 and 98, my friend had a Jazz flag in the back of his Yota. Since it was temporary, we used some conduit and a couple of conduit clamps. It worked great, but it was only back there for a month or two in two successive years.
