Honestly, I would say just buy something more practical in a common caliber that the United States, and/or potential enemies (such as N. Korea) use... so... 5.56 or 7.62x39...
Just my 2 cents. However, if you're set on a .50, get the bolt action, and use the rest of the money for ammunition and other supplies. Rounds for those things are expensive, and you'll want to get into reloading the shells yourself just to save money.
