I wish they would just leave the old one. It is essentially unchanged since 1983. All of the tooling was paid off years ago. Ford makes a tidy profit, but got greedy.

put a 2.0 and 3.5 ecoboost in them, make a 4 door with a 5 foot bed, and the extended with a 6 foot. then a regular cab with a 6 or 8 foot. you could make a raptor ranger type vehicle, manual T case, fox long travel with poped out fenders. it would be so cheap to revamp the outside a bit, and put new power and trans package in the truck. Id buy one in a few years when my ranger dies.

ranger 3.5 ecoboost, boxed frame, fox racing shocks with mid travel suspension, 4x4 with man transfer case, stick, extended cab with a 6 foot bed, full skidplates, electronic locking rear diff, nice set of racing seats, glass fenders and bed sides, 33x10.50 BFG at's

Make it a Ford Ranger Prerunner eddition. why do this? because a dressed up f-150 with an oversized engine and the same stuff sold a TON.

It looks kind of chunky to belong to the ranger family

i think ford should leave the body alone and just offer new drive train configurations, mabey 4 doors and different bed sizes, the tooling is already paid off. heck they should atleast atempt for atleast one more year to make little fleet rangers with ecoboost engines and 6spds..

Would be nice if american companies put diesels in a 1/2 ton truck that wasn't leftover garbage.

People look at diesels and think smelly, loud, smoke. I look at them and see torque :)

People are just resistant to change... The new F150 was a split between love and hate but now that people are used to it they don't mind as much. This new ranger was designed with americans in mind, it was designed with the rest of the world in mind. I think it looks good! Especially different to the rest of the Fleet of American Vehicles.

I plan on getting one of these beasts down the road some day. A 6 speed and I bet I could squeeze 30MPG's out of that engine. I wouldn't need to get a car! :icon_thumby:
