So 410FORTUNE and I worked on this thing a little bit tonight and if I am being completely honest I have a hard time seeing colors….
My step dad just so happens to be a ford explorer/ranger guru and he knows how to wire stuff the way it needs to be.
So if you want wiring specifics I can get a diagram as to what he did specifically.
So as far as the wiring goes I believe it’s done!
very little bits left to do like plug in the O2 sensors, fill the radiator, install the fan/shroud, etc…. Gonna be firing it up tomorrow hopefully!!!

Went to fire it up and we are getting no fuel pump… there is power to it and the relay is clicking but the pump is dead! So now we are waiting on a new pump to come in…. Then we can get back at it

Just got the fuel pump installed with a new filter and I am pooped!
Who would have thought having a full tank would make it a lot harder! Lol 😅
Gonna be firing it up tomorrow hopefully!
Even with a full tank it only took me about an hour from start to finish!

Got the rear driveshaft made and now I’m finishing up the manual case shifter install. Been a hectic few weeks, but I’m almost ready to take her on her maiden voyage!

Got the U-joint installed finally and let me tell ya… best and worst test drive ever lol
After a few mishaps and little bugs, we got it to a point that all we need to do is cut/modify the plastics for tire fitment, get it aligned, and wire up the Dakota digital box so I can have a speedometer and the wife will be driving her new truck finally lol

Got it aligned and well….. I’ve got some bugs to squash…. The transmission won’t shift into 3rd and it’s got some serious death wobble. Time to start fine tuning

Finally got around to getting the bumper on. Had to hack it up a little bit as far as the header panel and the grille and a few other things since this isn’t a sport trac bumper lol but I think it’s coming out good so far.

Looks good man!

Hey you don't have an auto tunnel cover do you? I don't know where mine is and I have a manual one but hole isn't in the right place for the M5R2 and I don't know what I did with the spares I had. They are MIA.

Got the grille chopped up and everything is final for the bumper. Got the radio working and a few other things…. Gonna have to do a transmission here soon unfortunately…. She has a hard time going from 2nd gear to 3rd gear…. It does but it has to hit 40 mph and almost 3000 rpm with the OD light off … might try a new valve body and solenoids first but I do happen to have another v8 explorer I can take the tranny from…. See how this goes I guess

My 96 transmission burned out on the highway about 20 miles from home. On a 4 lane divided highway doing 70 I looked in the rear view and saw nothing but a screen of white smoke. I pulled over and checked it out, and about 10 minutes later the traffic began moving through there again.
I drove it on, stopping every couple miles or so and letting the red glow in the transmission pan subside, at least I did have an extinguisher along, and I made it home ok.
The Explorer however has not left the driveway again.

Is that transmission worth no more now than a tin can?
