so i am at work and one the rangerstation, how cool is that?!?! anyways, a customer of mine just purchased 4 KYB monomax shocks for his 1998 mazda b3000 4x4 but the front hardware included with the shock does not even closely resemble the factory hardware. has anyone else ran into this before? what did you do? i told him his old bushings look fine to reuse, but it is the principal that he spent $85 per shock and they dont even have the correct mounting hardware. please help guys, id like to help this guy out and make him a repeat customer.

I am not entirely sure what is not matching up, but is the problem being the shock mounts? My B4000 used a bar pin on the bottom mount and a stud on the top. There are conversions out there though to allow the use of shocks with the typical eye to eye mounts.
good luck

the problem he is having is that the upper bushings that came with the shock are about half as big in diameter as the original ones. im not sure if the holes on the b3000 are larger than those on the ranger or if maybe KYB just screwed up and threw in the same rubber bushings as they do with all the other shocks? its been abouyt a week now since the guy came in and i havent heard anything from him, so he either made it work or he doesnt want to come back and deal with it anymore.

I have experienced a similar problem, ranger and mazda share the same shocks, but my 94 ranger had a solid pin the same size as the shock bushing,my 94 B4000 has a plain metric bolt & nut for a mounting I had to reuse the bushing from the old shock. And to think U pay good money for a simple swap.
