Acetone is Added to the fuel tank in tiny amounts, acetone aids in the vaporization of the gasoline or diesel, increasing fuel efficiency, engine longevity, and performance -- as well as reducing hydrocarbon emissions. Acetone allows gasoline to behave more like the ideal automotive fuel which is PROPANE.Never use solvents such as paint thinners or unknown stuff in your gas. Toluene, benzene and xylene have been okay if they are pure but may not raise mileage except when mixed with acetone. However the aromatics also raise octane

used with 2 oz. of acetone per 10 gallons of gas to fuel boasts other benefits such as increased power, engine life, and performance

I have heard from several mechanic friends to stay away from this additive. It can and will hurt the motor (rings piston tops and cranks). I would be cautious about using this or anything that says it will increase fuel milage and hp. Just add a really good air filter and air intake and make sure you are running the correct spark plugs set to the correct gap width and enjoy you ride. Make sure your plug wires are also in the best shape and replace them when required. A lot of my mags (Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Hot Rod for example) downplay a lot of these additives and say don't waist your money or take a chance on hurting your motor.

If you are using them...just be careful of what you are doing and keep and eye out on anything that seems unusual happening with your ride, Bro!!!

I'm thinking it is only good for removing your girlfriends nail polish. No f-ing way am I putting that in my fuel tank. I bet it is great for disolving your fuel level floats.

also i would think that the chemical that it is, would dry out any type of rubber or gasket or etc that it touches, shortening the life of the said parts.

It would dry out the rubber. It is also is the primary chemical in brake fluid and brake CLEANER. It destroys lubricity. That means it will remove the lubing properties of the fuel and screw up pumps and injectors.

I have heard about tis before, but never tried it. I use seafoam in my truck an like it. Acetone is close to the top of te list of ingredients, so i would think it would be ok in small diluted amounts.

Seafoam is also meant to be used in a very specific dilution, and right before an oil change.

Adding 4 oz of acetone to a 15 gallon tank once a year will dissolve any varnish that gets built up in the fuel system. All that other stuff I don`t know but it makes a great carb cleaner on a low budget.

Unless the Acetone Fairy visits you regularly you need to pay for it, so that will offset any benefits.
