2004 F250 6.0 powerstroke. Extended cab 8 ft. bed. Manual tranny with 67,000 miles on it. Its an Fx4 but its got rubber floors, vinyl seats, manual crank windows and a cassette deck. It has the Super Duty rust around the wheel wells but Im gonna get that taken care of and prolly line x it from the body line down like I did herculiner with my rangers. Gonna take some pics of it tonight and hopefully use this as a mod/improvement thread for the stroker.

Hope you looked over that 6.0 REALLY WELL before you forked over the cash. 6.0's are possibly the worst motor ever put in a f series.

Hope you looked over that 6.0 REALLY WELL before you forked over the cash. 6.0's are possibly the worst motor ever put in a f series.
With a little work they can be one of the best though.

Towards the end of their run they had the lowest number of warrenty claims of any Ford engine. Their biggest enemy is people that had too much money bought them because they thought a diesel would be cool, and they coked up the turbo putting around. They would then overboost and pop the headgaskets. Or people would chip them trying to make a racecar out of them, overboost the engine and pop the headgaskets.

IMO they beat the heck out of the 6.4 where you have pull the cab to do much more than change the battery and fluids.

Thanks 85. That was my thought exactly. People give the 6.0 all kinds of crap but if it was really that much of a problem Ford would have to be pulling them all back in. I may only be 24 but I drive like an old man and not like the jack asses that are blowin them up. First fill up on it about gave me a heart attack but I calculated the mileage and it gets better than my ranger. I dont plan on chipping it or jackin it way up or tryin to get it to blow smoke. I just wanted a comfortable diesel that can pull a trailer to the bog so I can play. I ended up workin on my buddys car all last night so I didnt get any pics of it yet.
Mods that Im gonna do are mostly cosmetic.
1. Tint windows to 15%
2. Fix the rust on bed and linex from body line down
3. Add Backwoods Performance sticker
4. Remove cat and muffler
5. May do the egr delete

Hope to snap a couple pics tonight for the before pic.

Sounds like you've got a good truck. I agree with 85_Ranger4x4 that with a little $$ the 6.0 can be one of the best diesels out there. I would recommend doing the EGR delete because if it goes out it usually take your oil cooler out with it. My dad was forced to do his EGR delete because of this and now he's putting in a oil cooler too. also recommend ARP headstuds if they haven't already been done. The 6.0 is bad for actually stretching the headstuds and thus blowing the head gaskets.
