Hi from Renfrew Ontario Canada. It's great to read about all the neat stuff people are trying on their Rangers and there is some really good information here.I have just posted my first thread asking about using Explorer hood hinges on my '04 FX4. I hate that prop rod and my wife's SportTrac has hinges with short gas struts that hold the hood up. They work well and look nice and neat. They mount using four bolts vs. two for the Ranger hinges and there are some other differences but I think they might work as long as the hood is strong enough at the hinge mounting points. I know there are aftermarket kits available but I think this would be a cleaner looking setup. If anyone has tried this or has information on it I would appreciate the advice.
