Not really new to the site, but new to being active since I finally own a Ranger. Picked up this '97 for a thousand bucks from an older gentleman. 168k on it, 3.0L automatic 2WD. In really good shape for the most part, even has working AC.
I've worked on a lot of cars in my short 27 years on this planet and I have to say, this thing is so easy almost ridiculous to fix. Swapped the grille and headlight doors, new cluster bulb over the fuel gauge, and new shocks. Still needs tires, so if anyone has a set of nice stock 15" Ranger or Explorer rims with 225 or 235s on them in good shape, I'd be interested. Will even trade my rims toward them... I really don't care for the American Racing rims on it. I'd love to find a set of Alcoas for it, because they're so clean looking.
Rear end making a howling noise, so I have to pull the cover go over it to see what the heck the deal is with that... but so far on a full tank of fuel, I've run it 120 miles and am still not down to a half tank. This rocks!
Also, if anyone needs anything, I regular the U-Pull Junkyards around here and would be happy to pick some things up for other members. Also have been working at the local NAPA for the past five years, so if you're in the Whitehouse NJ area, I'd be happy to hook you guys up.
