I'll start by saying I have a 1995 Ranger XLT 4.0 2wd and 1996 Explorer 5.0 AWD. That and a bunch of parts that I know are needed.

Long story short, do you guys have any suggestions on shops or individuals that you would recommend for this job?

i would be tempted sell the explorer stuff and get a 5.3 or 6.0 set up. most current shops are probably well versed in the ls platform.

theres a bunch down there....so look locally...

wagon works i think is sc......maybe tn....and carolina rod shop.

probably 10 grand to have it done though....and who knows the time line.

How mechanically inclined are you? There are some pretty good write ups on it. If you have a full Explorer, you have everything you need.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Where are you in SC? Check with Hawks Motorsports in Easley. If they won't do it, they'll steer you in the right direction. I could try to ask around at work. But most recommendations I get will be in the upstate.

Thanks for the response. I'm sorry for the late reply, it's been CRAZY at work so far this year. Good problem I guess. I'll check out those shops you mentioned.

Myrtle Beach. I actually have ato head up to Pickens soon so I'll stop by hawks on the way. I've heard their names mention more than a few times.

Enough to get myself in trouble! I started out on Fox body mustangs so the skill is there, but no lift. I actually told my wife that the house we build next year MUST have a 4 car garage with a lift and gourmet kitchen. Everything else is up to her... because I can sleep in the garage if needed!!

Is that: A 4 car garage with both a lift AND gormet kitchen. -or- A house with a 4 car garage, a gourmet kitchen. and a lift in the garage

Meaning is the kitchen supposed to be part of the garage? If so, I think I could in that too.

Who am I kidding, give me a 4 car garage with a lift, a hot plate, and a microwave and I'd could live in it.

If the gourmet kitchen is in the garage, she doesn’t have to walk so far to deliver your sandwiches.
