Hi guys, I am having trouble with my 2000 Mazda B-series, 5 speed. I tried to start the vehicle, but it does not turnover, It has power until I push the clutch in, and turn the ignition key, it makes a single loud "click" and then the power shuts off. I have tried a brand new battery, which didn't work. I'm on a tight budget, so I am trying to avoid taking it to a mechanic, so any help is appreciated.

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!

This...

Check you’re battery cables. Both at the battery and at the starter/ engine side. You’re looking for a loose, corroded, or bad connection of some sort.

If those check out. Start checking for bad grounds to the block. This is assuming you have already confirmed that the charge on the battery is good.

Hi everyone! Thanks for the replies. The source of the problem, was due to loose battery connectors. I sprayed the connections with WD40, and then I tightened them up more, for a secure connection. This solved the problem, and it started right up.
