I had heard wiring was easy, just match up the colors. Well there's a slight problem, only like 2 wires match up. Plus there are 2 thick wires on the new harness that came with my radio and only 1 thick wire on my old radio harness. I read the wiring diagram and found all the wires. I need some serious help please. Here is a list of all the wires on the new harness.

Black (thick)
Yellow (thick)
Red
Blue
Grey
Grey with Black stripe
White
White with Black stripe
Green
Green with Black stripe

This is confusing me and I know not all the wires will be used. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does your harness still have the plug on it that goes into the stock stereo? If it does then you can make short work of the job by buying the adapter harness that most walmarts, meijers, and best buyscarry. If the stock plug is missing then refer to the wiring diagrams in the tech library.

My credo
Fix it till its broke!
Find a wiring diagram for your model harness from the manufacturer usually it comes with documentation, and the wires usually are labeled on the back or bottom of aftermarket decks. I know I've had to physically check all the speakers by hooking one up with the deck out and powered while adjusting the balance and fade to only one speaker at a time then labeling those suckers forr future referance. Then use a test probe to find constant and swiitched power. Ground is always black, the illumination and other stuff can be tougher but trial and Error with some patience will get you there if all else fails. But definately a diagram for your model is a huge help. Ps sometimes the harness wires are labeled for their function.

Negative repped. Usually on the head unit harness, the yellow wire is thicker than the other wires. Now you look like the idiot. :haha:
