My hood latch failed, causing the hood to fly up while driving :icon_surprised:

The hood flying up bent the back of the hood and also the metal piece between the hood and the windshield - so now the hood won't open without binding.

Questions:
1. What is that piece between the hood and the windshield, with the air intake vents and washer nozzles, called?
2. Any suggestions on how to bend it back with it on the truck?
3. How is it attached? Is it practical to replace it? Any ideas where to get a replacement?

Thanks!!

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
What year?

1) depends... some call it a wiper cowl, some call it a windshield cowl, others just call it a cowl.

2) Post some pics. You may have bent the hood hinges too.

most of the newer ones on other rigs are stupid plastic so atleast u can fix it there should be a panel to take of and reach up there with a metal rod and a hammer and bend it back out
