hi all, just joined because I am thinking about a 4cyl automatic ranger. For trips it would be nice to have cruise. If I find a good candidate but it doesnt have cruise, would it be hard to add?

thanks

It's fairly involved on the earlier trucks, with hard to find parts if you want to use factory parts. 2002 is 20+ years old.

Here is a aftermarket kit they sell.

The only way I know of is to either use an aftermarket kit, or get a PCM, cruise module, harness, and throttle body from a cruise equipped ranger- but be sure it is of the same year and engine/transmission.

Supposedly it's isn't too hard to do if you can source all the needed parts. Getting the parts is more work than I'm willing to do. Not having cruise control isn't that big of a pain to me to make the effort worth it.
