I'm trying to get at the choke components of my 2150 carb... but these aren't the flat head screws I was expecting to see!

i *think* that they are still screws (not rivets) you just gotta figure out how to unscrew them. in the past ive used a dremel with a thin cut off wheel to make a slot a screwdriver would fit. these look smaller, you may want to try a very sharp chisel or punch.

those would be rivets... you trying to adjust your choke, replace it or just remove it?

Trying to adjust the choke. I just want to get in there and clean/replace the gasket.

drill the heads off then replace with screws
I think the screws come in the rebuild kit.

That used to be the way you could tell if the carb had been rebuilt, no rivets

Well, I've seen the inside of those and I really don't think there is an adjustment in there that would suit your purpose...it's just a spring that gets tighter with heat...and that tension opens the butterfly valve...or vise versa.

That little green loop in the lower right is probably what is yanked to open the butterfly...you might be able to add a manual choke kit once you get that cover off...and the kits actually come with a cover (some of them do) so you can control it a bit better...

If the unit is not functioning properly...replacing it with a manual or OEM parts might be your best bet...

However, hush my mouth, if you find out otherwise be sure to post your findings if you can...always nice to know these things for future reference...
