Just wondering what I even have.........

My dad gave me a couple F-250's today He's pretty awesome.
both farm trucks, both run and drive. I don't know what I have, really. The rearends or diffs.... I'm assuming a d-44 fronts.....

One is a mid 80's F-250 Manual t-case (4spd manual I think) it has a fresh stout 351 manual locking hubs.......

And a late 80's model F-250 auto, 351 (needs carb work) manual t-case (stuck in 4wd) and manual locking hubs.

I just sold my broco II but I'm looking to pick up another within the week........

what parts can I use to build a trail rig is the question at hand.

I suppose a v-8 swap can be arranged pretty easy.........
I want a manual t-case and manual trans (but I would prefer a 5spd)

Just shorten the frame up and slap the B2 body on there. It sounds easy.:icon_confused:

those conversions usually look like crap.

I just want to know what diffs I have and t-case........ and what trans I need to find to have a 5spd.
I'll put them under my bronc, but I'm not putting the bronc onto an F-250

Yeah I have a video of that 50gallon drum on my phone with my truck behind it..... looks pretty awesome, wished I'd tossed the bottle full of acetylene in it and video taped that...........

I may not even use these trucks....... hell I don't know anything about em.
May just scrap them and do a 4.0 and d-35 and 8.8........ that's easy peasy.

It will only look like crap if you do a crap job of doing it.
I would love to find a F250 with a 351 or 460 setup, chop the rear of the frame, gut the interior of a BII or ranger.
Add a cage, seats and belts.............Beat it like it killed your dog.

In the mean time, I guess I'll do a happy dance because I have some free trucks......... That's really not like my dad, I think he's thanking me for selling my B2 to my brother at a good price, because he needed a 4x4.

I think the tranny is either an sm496 with a granny low first or maybe a T-18, I can't remember but that sounds right. I had an 84 bronco years back with the 4-speed. Damn good tranny and very well worth keeping. As for the t-case, I'm pretty sure it's an NP205. The rear end is probably a 9 inch. See if the third member drops out the front, if so, it's the 9, if not, it may be a Dana 60.

Or sm465, can't remember the numbers now, been too long ago and they're all a blur, too much info floatin around in my head.

4-speed on a small block is probably a T-18. Keep it out of your B2, its a boat anchor.

I'd go looking for a ZF. they are kinda hard to come by, but they can be fit into a B2, but you have to make the trans tunnel taller. The advantage of the ZF is that is has a very low (not quite granny) 1st, and you really can't break the durn things.

As for your trucks, they probably have 10.25 rears and D-60s in the front.

Sweet....... just found a B2 for 500 bucks with a bad trans only 20miles away. body looks pristine. and I found a back up b2 in tn with a bad trans.......... body is unholy nice on it but its a long drive.
I got them dollars in my pocket and my bosses trailer (he offered me his d-max dually) and i was like hell no I don't need your pansy-wagon........ and I just pointed over to my truck and said "I got a Ranger".
