OK, now I have searched this and came up with nothing. Also, my current stereo is a factory installed 1999 with tape deck, no CD controls.
I found this:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-F-SERIES-RANGER-RADIO-99-03-AM-FM-CS-IPOD-INPUT-/160493663452?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item255e2af4dc#ht_650wt_939
They modify the stereo for a 3.5mm jack. I know I can install an aftermarket deck, and I even have one, but do not like the look, I like the factory look, but want the aux input without an FM modulator(they suck).
Has anyone done this? I am not trying to take away from this guys business, but am short on cash and love to do it myself.

hes tapped into the the wiring between the tapedeck (CD) and the main raido. the problem whit that is youll have to hot wire them to play with out a media device in them. or just have a CD with one long song that is silent.

you cant just send in a sig to the main part of the head unit. it has to ask for it.

now another option, is the tape with the head phone jack attached. there is no
RF to deal with and will work good.

I use the tape deck adapter and can say that sounds better than any FM modulator that you can get.
