O.k., I have a question regarding the installation of an aftermarket temperature guage. I have a 1988 Bronco II with a 4.0L engine out of a 1994 Explorer. My temp. guage has acted up ever since I did the swap several months ago. It moves up and down constantly. I know the temperature of the engine is not changing because I have used a temperature laser several times on it and get the same reading. So here is my question....

I have heard that you can confuse the engine computer if you do away with the existing temperature sending unit. The aftermarket guages I have seen require installing a new sending unit. My intake manifold only has one spot for this so how could I find a guage that I could make work without having to eliminate my dash guage?

The gauge sender and CTS are completely separate.
