Because buying stock on margin is right up there with welding the pinion to the ring gear for extra traction.

I've been thinking about this issue for a while now though. Just on a smaller scale. The dealer I work for sells about 120 cars a month in an area that is not that large. Granted we are the only Ford dealer in a fairly large radius, but I don't see this level being sustainable. 75 is a more realistic number.

My GM's performance is based on % increase over the previous year. Not a good model.

It's a long read. Buying stock is like gambling buying stock on margin is like gambling with a loansharks money. In the stock market hindsight is always 20/20. I took a gamble on CIT when it was around a buck a share thinking the government would help bail them out. I was wrong lost everything.
