Hi there,

I think I might have installed the fuel lines that come out of the fuel pump incorrectly. I thik I might have plugged the return line where the fuel line should go.

I've pulled out my gas tank 3 times this week only. Just cuz I've forgotten to do something while at it, Like plugging the fuel filler neck and tightening up the hose clamp around the "return" line nipple thing.

When I started it up tons of gas came out from the top of the tank (what I imagined was the fuel return line) came undone.

So I dropped my tank and addes not only one but 2 hose clamps to it.

When I went to start it up I just wouldn't. I would hear the pump pressurizing when I turned the key, but it wouldn't start. I poked the "tire valve" on the engine and there was no sign of pressure there too.

do you guys have any clues?

The pump will make a lot of noise when priming until the air is purged from the system. When all the air is out and it is ready to try starting the pump should get noticeably quieter.

How many times did you cycle the key?

The other thing you can do is to try unhooking the lines at the engine and see which one fuel comes out of.

No, find the spring lock connectors on the driver's side of the truck and unhook them there, where the lines come into the fuel rail.

That's in the engine bay, or just past the fuel filter?

Should be up in the engine bay.

On that year of the 4.0 they may be line nut fittings on the rail. My engines both have modified fuel line arrangements to allow the 4.0 to plug into the stock 2.9 fuel lines.

Checked the end of fuel filter for pressure, there was none... I probably clampped a fuel line while I put back the fuel tank back on. Gonna check soon
