I think i found the problem

I decided to take my EGR valve off and discovered that only the visible bolt was securing the EGR valve resulting in a vacuum leak. Whoever worked on this truck must have forgotten the second bolt.:annoyed: Reset codes took it for a spin with no problems and no engine light and no sputtering. :icon_hornsup:

Well problem isn't fixed... runs like crap while cold for about a minute and runs great when warm. Truck has two codes running lean in both banks...

Anyone?

Might take a good look at the PCV elbow at the back of the head (driver side?).

Those elbows are notorious for rotting away and creating a big vacuum leak.
Intake manifold leaks on the 3.0 aren't common.
I'd look harder before tearing into all that.

currently p0171 P0174

LngST1 and LNGST2 at 25%.

Investigated for vacuum leaks and could not discover anything. Zip tied every damn boot to make sure nothing was getting through.

Have held off on the plenum gasket replacement so far...
