3.0l Ranger engines were gas only or were Flex fuel 1998-2003 and had different heads
VIN's 8th digit "U"(gas only) or "V"(Flex fuel), it matters if you are just changing 1 head

And just so you know there is no right or left specific head on this 3.0l, or most V6 and V8 engines
A 3.0l Vulcan head can be mounted on either side
