Went to the junk yard for an axle shaft for my 99 ranger and found a complete axle that hadnt been touched. Cracked open her pumpkin and everything looked brand new. Long story short i grabbed the open carrier (with ring gear) and axle shaft for 48 bucks. I have a no slip locker in my 2001 ranger edge daily driver and hate it. Im gonna put the open in there but want some input. Can I do this without having to mess with my ring gear in the truck or am i gonna have to pull it all out and reset backlash and all that fun stuff. I get one day a week to work on my solid axle swap on my 99 and hate to waste it on swapping my carriers on my 2001.
