I dont know if there was a post on this issue , sry if there is . i got an 86 2.9 auto 4x4 . and the issue im having is it back firing through the intake i was told by a few trs members on facebook thats either a timing issue or the ica anymore advance would be great ... leading up to this i used 1/3 of seafoam and changed out the fuel pump and map sensor . the truck has 158,000 miles but i dont know if the motor was redone or not .

Check everything, make sure the throttle position sensor is plugged in and has good connection, double check everything.

My credo
If you can't go through it or around it, then go over it.
did the shop unplug the TFI module to set the base time? every non ford shop I have ever been too misses that step.

Compression is good. Those numbers are fine. I would be worried if one was way off or something.
