lowing my ranger

im about to be lowering my ranger new weekend and i was wandering if i am forgetting anything. i got a exploer rear end for the back complete with disk brakes sway bar and the factory wheel hop bars. it a posi 373 i pulled out of a junkyard today. i am ordering drop i beams and putting new ball jionts in it and radius arm bushing. am i missing out on anything or is there anything i might need that i am forgetting?

You will need to get eccentrics (alignment cams/bushings) and an alignment. How much are you planning on dropping?? The rear will be dropped about 4-5" just with the perches in the factory position(under the axle), so I'd go at least 3" in the front...

i was gonna get 3 inch drop i beams and go from there. is there a certain eccentrics i need to get?

It will vary depending on your drop. When I went 7" up front I needed 3.5* eccentrics...You should be able to get away with 1.5 or 2*...

You won't know til after you install the beams and get it to an alignment shop. Every truck is different and every suspension is different...

okay thanks for the help. the only mods i think im gonna have to do is cut my old shocks mounts off my axle and weld them on the 8.8

yeah i got 4 new drop ones coming. the 8.8 i got has 11 inch rotors and for now until i am planing on running my stock 14 inch wheels are they gonna clear the back rotors?

okay i got everything installed and i am happy with it but it seeems like my steering wheel almost has a loose type feeling. wat could cause these i have a print out of wat the aligment set everything and it looks to be in spec jw if u guys had of any thoughs i could try

If there isn't enuff caster(example: the steering wheel should try to return to center by itself after you turn a corner)....it will cause the steering wheel to feel sloppy....also,,,,IF THE TIE-RODS HAVE THE FRONT WHEELS IN A BIND--the steering wheel won't feel right...been there/took half a day to figure out what was going wrong!

im looking into doing the same rear end swap.....i was advised to change the rear main seal also
