I just built this engine for my truck 2 months or so ago. Runs great, and then Friday developed an oil leak. Quick to fix, i found the problem, leaking from the back side of the lower intake. The gasket kit that came with the engine for an extra 300.00 had cork that was cut out to fit the block for the front and back. I used them along with AIRCRAFT SEALANT, ( IMO the best ) and thats what started leaking. I talked to my uncle who is ASE Certified and he said the cork was a bad idea, in most cases if the space is too tight it just pushes the cork out, and just to use RTV sealant. So i did, its been a couple days, and no complaints. Just out of curiousity, has anyone else used that cork and had problems? Or does everyone just use RTV? The trucks already done, i was just wondering for the "know sake"
Thanks,
Shawn
