So I am thinking of buying one of these japanese mini trucks(similarto the one in the picture). They do pretty well off road and they are now legal to drive on the road in Oklahoma. I was going to get a 4 wheeler but these are street legal. What do you think?

Check crash test. That should cover any consideration of driving it on roads among big heavy motor vehicles. Great farm trucks, when configured right, but they have little to no protection.

Yep, did some more research and found that the mpg is not that great on these, and you are right...they would be kind of scary driving next to a full size at 60mph.

Those work great on Japanese roads, where there aren't Dodge Ram 3500's and semis roaming city streets

Yes, true. I guess I will still plan to get a 4 wheeler.

It looks like a Smart4Two with a box attached...but I'd stay away too...I don't like any vehicle that puts the driver over the front wheels...unless it's much bigger...I drove a 66 Ford Econoline for a while and it wasn't fun knowing your legs are right behind a bumper and a bit...

When I was in Haiti we rode in a similar truck that was just a bit bigger, it worked great, we crossed rivers and rode on some really gnarly roads and if anyone has been to Haiti they know that Haitians are notoriously the craziest drivers in the world.

I have a pic of it but I can't find it right now, if I do Ill post it

they are good for fields or logging roads... w/ good tires. now, on our 4wheeler trails where i hunt; it would suck! heck, i'd think twice before trying to drive a UTV down some of our trails.

we have 2 in the family, fun to drive, max out at 45... but they are scary driving on the highway, no safety at all.
