I guess I set my self up for that one.Put in a bigger engine. lol
So this would help in 2/3/4, but not in first gear, right? The flywheel is an energy storage device. It stores momentum to help the engine get through the space between the end of one power stroke and the start of the next. A heavy flywheel does this better than a light one because it takes more force to stop it. That in turn helps to increase the available torque low in the RPM range by helping the engine push through when the power strokes are farther apart.
more in 1-2-3So this would help in 2/3/4, but not in first gear, right?
I agree, Ford liked to put 3.08:1 gears in these little 4 cylinder trucks, going to 3.73:1 would be a nice step, and shouldn't hurt anything... speedo will probably read fast though...Regear lol
True, but if he has a 2.3 then a 2.5 swap would be a good start. This is in the 4-cylinder forum, so I would be guessing a 4-cylinder. lol
