Hi, thought I'd introduce myself. Name's Jimmie and I've just recently bought my first Ranger.
Since it's not the most common vehicle around here I thought this might be a good place to get some information and pointers. Noticed the tech articles, seems like a good start for a new owner like myself.

I've never owned a US vehicle before and this Ford came with the OE radio. So far so good, but I had to smile a bit when I found a localized note in the owners manual, saying that the radio will only tune to uneven FM frequencies. Probably not an issue 'over there' but my favorite station is on 97.0.. :annoyed:

At last, a photo of a rather dirty truck.

Welcome to TRS Jimmie~!

Nice looking truck...didn't know they had them in Denmark but it's a 1996 according to your details...

Yes, the FM bandwidth in North America is only on the odd numbered frequencies...but you can probably find a suitable replacement for that unit from another vehicle produced by Ford or one of their suppliers in the EU.

If you know how to solder I would suspect that it's just a matter of changing the tuners in them...something I haven't looked at for about 40 years but still remember tweaking a receiver in a lab a few times...

Probably easier to find a replacement...lol

Anyway...enjoy!

Thanks and I'm enjoying the truck so far, no doubt about it.
Changing the radio is on my list, I guess I was just surprised when I found out about the frequency thing. Had no clue.
