But not all is lost. For finance reasons I may have had to stay with a 7.5 for now, but at least the 3.45 open diff got replaced with this:

I got a whole axle assembly with 3.73, L/S, and 10" brakes (old ones were 9") for under $200, which was the cheapest deal I could find within 300 miles of me... They looked at me funny at the junkyard when they asked what I was driving and I pointed to my wifes '00 Daewoo Leganza, lol. It *just* fit in the trunk with the back seats down though, and the lid shut too!

Haha nice. I once put a 351C shortblock in the trunk of my mom's Tercel. That was an interesting ride home.

i love hauling weird crap home in tiny cars. i hauled a johnson 35-horse long shaft outboard home in the cargo area of my escort. it fit with the back seats upright and everything. i also hauled most of my blue escorts motor around with my red escort for about a week.

grats on the new axle...3.73's should be a nice improvement!
