Picked up an SCX10 last weekend. I've got some decent plans for it. So far I've put a 35t motor in it, super soft springs, cut the outer lowers off the bumper, cut off the bump stops and converted the rear to a 4 link. I'm going with a chassis mounted servo with a 3 link front w/ panhard bar, just waiting for all my links to arrive. For the body I think I'm going to go with an extended cab Dodge Ram with a custom flatbed and bumper(s) and sliders. And once Pitbull releases their 1.9 rockers I will be buying them.

Here's an indoor shot since the weather sucks.

I had one of them at one time. I just could never get in to rock crawlers. Just to slow for my liking. The one thing I did like is I made mine 4 wheel steer.

Bad weather is the best time to drive it! My SCX10 is built for mud, though. It loves it with the 2.2 Flat Irons, 5.5" shocks, and spooled axles.

Nah I'm not into cleaning mud and water out of all the crevices and gearboxes. Much like 1:1 rigs, water is nothing but problems and I avoid it whenever I can.

HPI has a new 79 F-150 body... It would make a sweet trail truck. I might be using it for one of mine.

On the SCX10 chassis water isn't a big deal. I pull the axles apart every now and than and clean the bearings and load the marine grease right to them. I've never found sand or anything in the gearbox, either. Easiest way to clean it is hit a good puddle and drive it through some long grass! I admit, I am rather abusive to mine.

Got the aluminum links in along with the frame mounted servo. Dodge Ram extended cab body on the way. Plan on a custom steel flatbed and bumper(s) and sliders made from solid 3/16 rod. I'll also be buying Pitbull tires as soon as they're released.

Here's a couple more shots. Had to shim the servo down because the horn hit the frame rail. Also put in an aluminum servo horn.

Stock servo for now. I'll be using a Hobbico CS-170 when the stocker pukes or I get tired of the lack of power.

The Ram body so far. Not super happy with the paint and decal work, but body work has never been my strong point.

Why'd you trim so much nose? I like the color!
